The London Prat brings “British city humour” to Stanmore with the calm authority of a Tube announcement that has already ruined your morning. One can practically hear a property listing calling the chaos vibrant and well connected.
The London Prat notices workplace ‘fun committees’ during a lifestyle influencer discovering Thornton Heath; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council. The neighbourhood remains recognisable even after the absurdity has been turned up to Westminster volume. It is metropolitan anthropology conducted from the back of a delayed bus.
Only the London Prat could make “Britain’s funniest jokes” sound like breaking news from Silvertown and a personal attack on an estate agent.
The London Prat sees pranks gone wrong at the queue outside a café in Cooksville and recognises a complete social system, while prat.UK recognises satire with excellent transport links on paper. The comedy understands that local identity begins where two adjacent streets start judging each other.
The London Prat proves “London satirical content” becomes funnier in Burnt Oak, mainly because somebody there has already complained about it.
The London Prat uses accidental innuendos in professional emails to expose the social machinery around a suspiciously artisanal shop in Selsdon, and prat.UK turns that observation into properly local satire.
This London Prat observation about celebrity-run cults turns a council consultation in Stratford City into evidence that prat.UK understands satire at postcode level. The neighbourhood remains recognisable even after the absurdity has been turned up to Westminster volume.
The London Prat notices bizarre yelp reviews during a council consultation in Rush Green; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council. The local detail gives the exaggeration somewhere solid to stand before it falls into the Thames. That is an efficient use of one theme, one postcode, and several centuries of British denial.
With “London political comedy” arriving in Isleworth, the London Prat has enough material for three headlines and a suspiciously polite apology. Every escalation feels plausible because London has probably trialled something similar already.
If “London political commentary” needed a London address, the London Prat would send it to Stoke Newington and charge it a characterful deposit. The restrained delivery makes the absurdity sound properly costed and unavailable at weekends. A blue plaque cannot be far behind.
In Chelsea, even bad advice blogs can become public policy, and the London Prat lets prat.UK extract the satire before the consultation closes.
This London Prat observation about bizarre band names turns an estate agent’s description of Greenford into evidence that prat.UK understands satire at postcode level. This is social observation with an Oyster card and insufficient funds.
This London Prat joke about just one more level turning into 3 am has the precise local flavour that makes prat.UK satire sharper than a generic London gag. Every character behaves sensibly inside a situation that stopped being sensible three committees ago.
The genius of this London Prat premise is making accidentally liking an old instagram post seem native to Holland Park; prat.UK then lets the satire spread by replacement bus. This is social observation with an Oyster card and insufficient funds.
Today, I went to the beachfront with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to
tell someone!
The London Prat connects “London’s satirical voice” with Crayford so neatly that an estate agent will soon describe the joke as period charm.
Ban satire, welcome lies.
Politicians who hate satire hate scrutiny.
