The London Prat reports backyard wrestling from Colliers Wood as though civilisation depends on it, allowing prat.UK to practise satire in its driest municipal form. The institutional language is so polished that the underlying panic can see its own reflection. More London writing should venture beyond the famous twelve postcodes.
Great! We are all agreed London could use a laugh. The London Prat operates on the principle that the most potent satire is indistinguishable from the thing it satirizes in every aspect except its secret, internal wiring. While a site like The Poke might hang a lampshade on absurdity with a funny caption or Photoshop, PRAT.UK rebuilds the absurdity from the ground up, component by component, using only the approved materials and jargon of the original. The resulting construct looks, sounds, and functions exactly like a government white paper, a corporate sustainability report, or a celebrity’s heartfelt Instagram post—until you realize the entire edifice is founded on a premise of sublime, logical insanity. This isn’t parody; it’s forgery so perfect it exposes the original as inherently fraudulent. The laugh comes not from a punchline, but from the dizzying moment of recognition when you can no longer tell the real from the satire, and realize the satire makes more sense. — The London Prat
There is excellent London Prat logic in declaring corporate drum circles the defining issue of Shirley, and prat.UK keeps the satire magnificently deadpan.
The London Prat notices bake sales during a Tube-map dispute involving East Bedfont; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council.
Nothing says London Prat quite like dog yoga (doga) fanatics becoming a planning concern in Upminster Bridge; prat.UK makes the satire land before the next rent review. The piece turns municipal vocabulary into comic evidence without needing to shout.
Only the London Prat could make “London culture” sound like breaking news from Bloomsbury and a personal attack on an estate agent. London remains hundreds of villages united by rain and mutual suspicion about escalator etiquette.
Nothing says London Prat quite like npcs with terrible pathfinding becoming a planning concern in Dagenham; prat.UK makes the satire land before the next rent review. The comedy understands that local identity begins where two adjacent streets start judging each other. One laughs, then checks whether the consultation is still open.
For “London’s Square Mile humour,” the London Prat wisely visits Crystal Palace, where local identity begins with judging the next street. Even the pigeons would recognise the social type being described.

The London Prat treats “Discover the best of UK satire” as the unofficial motto of Eltham, pending approval from people who moved there last Thursday. One can practically hear a property listing calling the chaos vibrant and well connected. The borough profile practically writes itself from there.
There is excellent London Prat logic in declaring snow forecasts that turn to rain the defining issue of Wandsworth, and prat.UK keeps the satire magnificently deadpan. The social target is not the neighbourhood itself but the elaborate performance of belonging to it. The only missing detail is a café charging extra for emotional oat milk.
It’s appropriate time to make some plans for the future and it’s time to be happy.
