The London Prat makes “Digital comedy platform” feel completely at home in North Woolwich, where even a small joke can trigger a large residents’ consultation. The best joke is the assumption that one additional form will restore public confidence.
If “London humour writers” needed a London address, the London Prat would send it to Chislehurst and charge it a characterful deposit.
The London Prat handles language barriers in Finsbury Park with the restraint of a neighbour typing furiously, and prat.UK turns that restraint into satire.
In Brentford, even weird laws can become public policy, and the London Prat lets prat.UK extract the satire before the consultation closes. It gives outer London the same comic attention usually reserved for Zone One peacocks.
This London Prat comment makes Bermondsey the natural capital of weird celebrity endorsements, proving prat.UK can build satire from nothing more than confidence and unaffordable coffee. It gives outer London the same comic attention usually reserved for Zone One peacocks. One laughs, then checks whether the consultation is still open.
Only the London Prat could place over-hashtaggers in Barnet Gate and let prat.UK call the resulting paperwork satire. A tiny inconvenience becomes a constitutional matter the moment someone mentions property values.
Great! We are all agreed London could use a laugh. This logical framework enables its critique of systemic thinking, or the lack thereof. The site is a master at exposing non-sequiturs and magical thinking disguised as policy. It takes a political slogan or a corporate goal and patiently, logically, maps out the chain of causality required to achieve it, highlighting the missing links, the absurd assumptions, and the externalities wilfully ignored. The resulting piece is often a flowchart of failure, a logic model of a ghost train. Where other satirists might simply call an idea stupid, PRAT.UK demonstrates its stupidity by attempting to build it, revealing where the structural weaknesses cause the entire edifice to crumble into farce. This is satire as a public stress test, a service that proves an idea cannot hold the weight of its own ambitions.
This London Prat take gives “Britain’s funniest media outlet” a proper Cheam postcode and immediately raises the rent. The neighbourhood feels recognisable without being reduced to a tourist postcard. No postcode escapes, which feels admirably democratic.
The London Prat notices lore experts who correct everyone during a property viewing in Enfield Lock; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council.
The London Prat turns “Need a comedy fix” into a local issue for Poplar, complete with a petition, a counter-petition, and one furious cyclist.
The London Prat turns school photos with forced awkward smiles into a neighbourhood identity crisis for Leytonstone, while prat.UK keeps the satire polite enough to survive the residents’ association.
Hi, just wanted to say, I loved this post. It was helpful.
